Oooops.

Well, it turns out I'm incapable of maintaining 2 blogs and a facebook. But I will put my New Zealand photos up soon. Probably. Although I think mostly everyone has seen them already, so its not too much of a stress.
The only currently exciting news is that I'm still waiting to hear about a new job and I'm going to get cats. Provided my landlord doesn't veto the plan. But I might get them anyway. I want kittens and I shall not be denied! Won't be till after Asylum though. But I will post photos. Cross my heart.
Anyway I promised I'd work some overtime tomorrow, so I have to go get some sleepins.

Whats with all this weather?

So spring has sprung. And the weather immediately takes a turn for the worse. Seriously MASSIVE storm happened last night. The torrential rain started in about midnight, closely followed by the kind of thunder and lighting that makes it look like daylight and makes the walls vibrate. That continued until around 6,30 this morning. Needless to say, not much in the way of deep sleeping going on. And it continued with the torrential rain and heavy winds all day (the weather report said light showers and light breezes) which totally nixed my plan of going to the Chinese Gardens. BLAH. THIS IS NOT THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE. I don't even have an umbrella!
Also, the cockroaches are making their return. People don't tell you this about Sydney, but BUG CENTRAL. The big ones run all over the sidewalks (I still freak out every time and people look at me funny) and the baby ones are all in the house. Bathroom mostly. IT IS MOSTLY UNPLEASANT. But eh, you just have to live with it I guess. I just make sure there is always a can of bug spray easy to hand in case any of the big 'uns get in the windows. ICK.
AND WOW ISN'T MY LIFE EXCITING? I'm talking about weather and insects. *is totally awesome*
In other news, Amys visa came through which means we are going to start looking at booking our flights to New Zealand and then back on to England. SO YAYE FOR THAT!
Right, time for bed. Work tomorrow, hurrah. Late shift. We stay open till 9.30pm because of being next door to the cinema. But its cool, we'll probably get food delivered. Pizza, or thai maybe. Mmmm.
G'night!

More peetchers!

Me, Amy and Kaela at the Opera House. This was from my first week here in fact, but I found it on my hard drive, so figured I'd post it again.

Me and my housemates, Amy and Maggie on the roof of our apartment building. There isn't really anywhere up there to sit, its mostly just for hanging laundry, but its pretty cool to head up and see over the city. See below.

Roof view over towards Bondi Junction.

Roof view over toward the City proper.

At Tropfest, the short film festival. Insanely awesome day out, culiminating in a massive thunderstorm that had 90,000 soaking wet people scattering and racing for home through Sydney city centre.

The place we stayed during our long weekend up at north NSW/Queensland border for the Splendour In The Grass festival. We ended up about half an hours drive away, but had proper bathroom etc and even with car hire, it still worked out cheaper than camping at the festival grounds. Neat huh?

We made a brief trip back to the car one evening to get sweaters, and ended up messing around and listening to CDs for an hour because there weren't any bands we wanted to see. And then Maggie got hungry and started eatching tomato sauce. Yeah, I live with weird people.

BEST BAND OF THE FESTIVAL. Snow Patrol. SO AMAZING. SOOOOO AMAZING. We had photos of us after the show, that I'm not allowed to show anyone because we all look INSANE with these manic grins and sweaty sticky up hair. Crazy people wooo!

On our scenic drive back to airport we had to stop and take photos because MOOBALL. Coolest place name ever. And the buildings where even painted black and white cow patterns. We don't seem to have photos of that. We are so rubbish.

Look! A BEACH IN QUEENSLAND THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE NORFOLK. It made me laugh anyway. I could have just stayed home and gone and collected shells there instead. But it would have been less exciting somehow.

So, thats all the photos I have to hand right now. Well, it isn't, but there are lots where one/all of us look stoned/insane/horrendous that I'm not allowed to share with people outside of the house. You should probably thank me to be honest. Yesyes.

Right then, I'll post again soon!

love Klo xx

Day Trippin'

Out and about in Sydney

So this is me and Amy taking a brief day trip out in Sydney and across the harbour to Manly. I'll get some more photos uploaded in a minute, I just have to resize them first.

On the bus!

Some bridge. Apparently its famous. I dunno..... *grins*
Anyway, we took it because there is a sparkly ferris wheel underneath. Tis where we saw the Darkness actually. True story.

Sydney, looking sexy in the afternoon sun. We were on the boat heading to Manly at that point. For ice cream. Yes, we took a half an hour boat trip to get ice cream. We are THAT awesome.

Manly beach. People where trying, rather unsuccessfully to surf, but the beach was pretty empty and it was a glorious day. So we dorked around, sat on the steps and ate ice cream and watched.....

...seagulls harrassing small children. Or the children harrassing them. It was unclear. But funny.

Our feet. For no real reason.

THUMBS UP!

Look at us, all windswept and interesting, out on the open ocean. Well, Sydney Harbour. Its openish.

More of Sydney looking pretty.

Some other, apprently famous, building.

You may recognise this from the motion picture Superman. The scene where he holds the car over his head. This is also where we ran bare foot in torrential rain after the film festival. Along with like, 90,000 other people. INSANE.

And these are our feet standing where said hot spandex clad man would have stood.

Extremely important part of the city. Man, now I'm hungry.

The Life of Klo

The Life of Klo
Hello family! Because I'm so utterly hopeless at emailing, I thought I'd set this up and I can have the page open all the time, so I'll scrawl stuff down as and when I think of it. That way, you'll be kept more up to date with my adventures. Hopefully!
Nothing much to report from today. Bizarrely strong wind, which meant we couldn't clean any books in the backyard of the shop, which is sad because its really nice out there in the sun. Its just a little concrete alley bit and we sit on upturned crates, but we all have coffee and everyone else smokes, so its all very chilled. All indoor work today though sadly.
Came home, watched a bit of TV with Amy and now I'm going to try and finish my book before bed. I'm reading Sahara atm, just watched the movie the other day, so I thought I'd pick it up. We are allowed to borrow extra copies of stuff from the shop and read them, because its all second hand anyway, so it doesn't notice. Sweet huh?
I'll try and put some photos up tomorrow morning and then I can email you guys with the link. So, I don't even know what I'm bothering to type this. Should shut up now. Sorry!
